Wedding Venues in Barcelona – Frequent Questions
After years and years of shooting wedding videography and photography and travelling the World for our stunning destination weddings we came to realize that there are some questions that recur no matter which location you choose for your wedding venue.
When we talk to our couples we always try to offer a helping hand (or two) and share everything we know about the best wedding venues in Barcelona, and answer all your questions – here are the most frequent ones:
How Much does it cost to get married in Barcelona?
A typical Barcelona destination wedding is a drawn-out affair, with a ceremony lasting more than 10 hours, as opposed to the 5-hour wedding reception that is common in the USA, for example. Traditional Spanish weddings are all about food; you’ll certainly get more value for your dollars, and you’re guaranteed a genuinely unique destination wedding that will keep your guests talking for years to come,. Thus, you need to take into account the overall wedding costs.
Catering
This cost, on average, is 150 euros per person including beverages. Approximately 70%-80% of your total wedding budget will go towards the catering aspect of the wedding. This is because caterers in Spain provide everything related to the reception – the per person price is not just limited to the food. Among other services, the linens, cutlery, crockery, staff, and all necessary kitchen equipment are built into the price.
Venue
Luxury wedding venues at the heart of Barcelona city could cost as much as 20,000 euros, while villas in the countryside cost around 6,000 euros. Certain venues charge a rental fee for exclusive usage of their venue, with the Couple outsourcing all of the providers needed for their wedding. Other wedding venues in Barcelona do not charge a rental fee and instead build it into their in-house catering costs, so actual catering and venue rental fees are offered as a package.
Ceremony
The costs for a wedding vary greatly whether it is a religious ceremony or a formal ceremony on the premises of the wedding venue in Barcelona.
- Religious Catholic Ceremonies: on average, a Catholic Church wedding includes a donation of between €300 and €700 payable to the Church, as well as a donation to the Priest, which is between €250 and €350.
- Symbolic Ceremony: If the ceremony is ceremonial, the venue may have an extra fee for the ceremony before the reception, which may vary on average from €400 to €3,000. Besides, the pair would have to provide seats for the visitors, varying from €4 to €25 a chair, plus transport. Lastly, the Official shall bill an average of between €300 and €600 for the ceremonial ceremony.
Florist and decoration
Provided that each flower has a particular expense that varies based on the time of year it is in season, the price of floral decoration can vary immensely. The total cost of a bride’s bouquet varies from 120€ to 150€, and the centerpieces for dinner tables will vary from 65€ per table for plain greenery and tea candles centerpiece to 1,000€ per table for an exquisite, intricate and lush centerpiece.
Music
The price of a DJ for one night will start at €500. If you like live music, it’ll be about €450, depending on how famous your chosen band is. Bear in mind that there are many musicians in Barcelona, one of the most multicultural cities in Spain. Taking the time to hunt for the party you enjoy the most.
Styling and makeup
The price of the hairdresser will be around €250 and the make-up will be around €350. You can always have cheaper costs if you have a local specialist, as you don’t have to pay for travel.
Photography and Videography
The rates for wedding videography and wedding photography in Barcelona are varied from wedding to wedding and certainly from as many companies as you can find. Everything that makes the most difference in my perspective is the sense of style and creativity – that the person you’re booking reflects the visual and personal taste that you enjoy so much. Each destination wedding video and photography company has its package list. Our packages start as low as 1950 Euro, but please feel free to contact us get our full price list of packages.
The most important thing to keep in mind when deciding your destination wedding budget is if the budget you’ve set for your wedding is appropriate for the destination you’ve picked so that you don’t realize that later in the planning process you decide to raise your budget, cut your guest list or change your wedding vision. Most importantly we live in Spain and it is super easy for us to travel to one of the top wedding venues in Barcelona – simply let’s start talking and I am sure we create a beautiful story.
What is the average cost of a wedding in Barcelona – our answer
The average cost of a wedding in Barcelona can vary significantly depending on the venue, guest count, and additional services. Generally, couples can expect to spend between €20,000 and €35,000 for a mid-range wedding, including the venue, catering, and other essential services. Luxury weddings in Barcelon tend to have a budget starting at €60.000. Some of our most recent weddings in Barcelona in venues like Castel Sant Marcal had the budget of €150.000.

Best Way to Travel around Barcelona?
Getting around Barcelona is short and simple. It has one of the strongest public transit networks in Europe, and the city center itself is genuinely walking-friendly and comfortable to visit by bike. Metro is the easiest way to get around Barcelona. A handful of numbered and color-coded lines tie through the city, allowing stops near several of the city’s most popular landmarks, as well as Barcelona-El Prat Airport(BCN). Town busses are still an alternative to get around the city, but be mindful the ever-present traffic delays make this way more time-consuming. You can hail taxis on the highway, but if you want to burn a few calories, you can take a ride on foot or by bike.
So yeah there are so many easy ways to travel from and to your wedding venue in Barcelona!
How far in advance should I book a wedding venue in Barcelona?
It is advisable to book your wedding venue in Barcelona at least 12 to 18 months in advance, especially if you plan to get married during the peak wedding season (May to October). Popular venues tend to get booked quickly, so early planning is crucial.
