A totally fantastic wedding in the amazing city of Florence in Tuscany. Oh wait, did I say wedding? Or was it more an elopement? Check for yourself
There is something about this city that makes my mind think in different directions. Florence is not only absolutely beautiful but it has something hidden in the light, in the walls and in the ambient of the streets. I am so thankful to Carla and Andrew that they chose Villa il Borro in Florence, Tuscany for their wedding venue and of course me to be their wedding videographer.
Carla is also a wedding photographer which made me even more honored to be a part of her day and I knew she had her requirements set high after booking Fer Juaristi for the day too.
We started at In Salviatino with the prep, where I could meet all the family of the groom for the first time. Then after a while, I ran through the streets of Florence shooting the city itself and trying to breathe in a bit of the cities atmosphere. For me, each city has a different vibe, different music, and color and therefore I really need to stop for a second and simply enjoy it and try to dive into the crowd and become a citizen even if just for one day.
The Compass Rose
After discovering the city I got to the amazing Villa il Borro located on a beautiful hill with a perfect view on Florence. Carla and her bridesmaids were getting ready there. That was also the time where I met her beautiful daughter. She inspired me so much. Her laughter, her smile and absolute joy were so free and tender but melancholic in a way too. And this very moment I already knew how my story will unfold. It will not be about Tuscany, nor about the city and its people. It will not be about the wedding either.
The story will be about the family and the mysterious tattoo on Carla’s back – the compass rose.
Carla and Andrew are so lucky that they get film from you! This is the most fantastic way to keep the best memories from the greatest day of life…

Looking for inspiration before filming a wedding I have the first time in a long time found tears on my cheek while watching a wedding film. This was a REALLY well-told story with not just a great couple, but a happy family. SO well done. Thanks for this great inspiration!
