When I filmed my first Indian wedding in Barcelona, I remember thinking: this is unlike anything I’ve ever seen through a viewfinder.
I’m Sebastian Nandryka, founder of SuperWeddings — an indian wedding videographer Barcelona. Together with my team, we’ve filmed over 400 weddings worldwide, including more than 200 Indian celebrations across Spain and Europe. We work at multi-day events spanning Mehndi to Sangeet to ceremony and reception, and we approach every one the same way: by understanding what’s about to happen before it does.

Why film matters more at an Indian wedding
“Photos freeze a moment. Film brings it back to life.”
At a three-day Indian wedding in Barcelona, you will experience things a still image simply cannot hold — the sound of the dhol cutting through the baraat, the laughter during the Haldi, the specific silence in the room just before the pheras begin, the speeches that make the whole family cry and laugh in the same breath.
A cinematic wedding film captures all of it. The movement, the music, the voices, the atmosphere.
When couples tell us they’ve watched their film on every anniversary since, it’s not because of the visuals alone. It’s because when they press play, they’re back in the room. They hear the priest, they feel the heat of the candles, they see their parents’ faces. That is what film does — and for Indian weddings, it does it better than almost anything else.
Our Indian wedding films
Every film below was shot at a real Indian wedding in Barcelona — no styled shoots, no test footage. This is what we actually deliver. Watch how we move through the Baraat, the Pheras, the Sangeet, and the quiet moments in between that make the whole story worth telling.
What we film at an Indian wedding in Barcelona
Indian weddings are never one day. They are a journey — and we document every stage.
Mehndi & Haldi
Two events that are consistently underestimated on film, and should never be. The Mehndi is intimate: close-ups of hands, conversations between cousins, the quiet focus of the artist at work. The Haldi is joyful chaos — turmeric on faces, laughter that you can’t manufacture, colour that looks extraordinary on screen.
We work small and quiet during both. Two cameras, no flash, no intervention. Just presence.
Sangeet night
The Sangeet is where the energy peaks before the wedding day. Choreographed dances, family performances, a dance floor that doesn’t stop. We cover it with multiple cameras to ensure we capture every performance without missing the audience reactions — because those faces watching from the sides are often the best footage of the night.
The Baraat
The Baraat is the most visually powerful 15 minutes of any Indian wedding — and the most technically demanding to film. The procession moves fast, it’s loud, and space is constantly shifting.
We position one camera on the groom and one moving through the crowd. We look for the family members dancing at the edge of the frame, the children who have no idea what’s happening but are absolutely part of the story, and the moment the groom catches his first glimpse of the venue entrance.
That’s where the film lives.
The Pheras & ceremony
The ceremony requires a different kind of presence — quieter, more considered. We move carefully around the mandap, never interrupting the priest or the ritual. Our goal is to be invisible while capturing everything: the exchange of garlands, the circling of the sacred fire, the final moments of the vows.
This footage, more than anything else, is what couples return to for decades.
Reception & celebration
From the first speech to the last dance, we stay until the story is finished. The reception is where the two families truly become one — and we film it that way.
Our approach: documentary instinct, cinematic result
We don’t make wedding recordings. We make wedding films.
The difference is in how we think about footage before we shoot it. Every clip is considered in terms of how it will be edited — the pacing, the music, the emotional arc. We edit in our heads as we film, which means nothing ends up in the cut that shouldn’t be there.
For Indian weddings, this balance is essential. Rituals deserve respect. Emotions deserve space. Our role is to be invisible when needed, present when it matters — always aware, always ready.
Barcelona venues we know for Indian weddings
Knowing a venue before the wedding day changes everything about what we can capture on it.
Castell de Sant Marçal is where we return most often for Indian weddings. The garden architecture handles baraat processions beautifully, the interior spaces are flexible enough for mandap setups, and the light in the late afternoon is genuinely exceptional for film.
Xavier Corberó (Espai Corberó) is where architecture meets ceremony in a way that exists nowhere else in Spain. The scale of an Indian celebration matches the surreal geometry of the space perfectly — and the light moves through the estate completely differently hour by hour.
Masia Egara offers 300 hectares of Catalan countryside with strong indoor-outdoor flow — ideal for multi-event coverage where you need to move quickly between spaces throughout the day.
Dolce Sitges (35 minutes from Barcelona) is the most logistically complete venue in the region for large Indian weddings, with hotel accommodation, ceremony spaces, and outdoor grounds all in one property. Read our full Indian wedding in Sitges guide.

Let’s talk about your celebration
We’re happy to answer questions about your timeline, venue, traditions or coverage before you commit to anything. No pressure — just a conversation.

Photography + videography together
Most Indian wedding couples we work with book both photography and cinematography as one package — and for good reason.
A single coordinated team means consistent communication, no competing for position during the pheras, no miscommunication between two separate crews, and a visual style that holds from the still images to the film.
If you’re considering both, it’s almost always the better choice. See our Indian wedding photography in Barcelona page for the full photography offer.
How to choose the right Indian wedding videographer in Barcelona
Choosing a videographer for an Indian wedding is different from choosing one for a standard European wedding. The day is longer, the ceremonies are more complex, and the emotional stakes of missing a moment are higher. Here’s what actually matters when making your decision.
Watch full films, not just highlight reels. A 90-second showreel tells you almost nothing. Ask to see a complete multi-day Indian wedding film — how does the Sangeet edit feel? Does the Baraat footage have energy or does it look like everyone was standing still? Is the ceremony covered from multiple angles or just one locked-off camera? The full film shows you how a videographer thinks.
Ask specifically about Indian wedding experience. Not just “multicultural weddings” in general — ask how many Hindu, Sikh or Muslim ceremonies they’ve filmed, whether they know the order of the pheras, and how they handle the Baraat when it moves fast and unpredictably. A videographer who has to ask what a Haldi is will cost you moments you can’t get back.
Check how they handle the timeline shifting. Indian weddings run late. Always. A videographer who has only shot structured European ceremonies will panic when the baraat is 45 minutes behind schedule. Ask them directly: what do you do when the timeline moves? Their answer tells you everything.
Make sure audio is a priority. The vows, the priest, the speeches — if these aren’t captured cleanly, the film loses its most important dimension. Ask what audio equipment they use and how they mic the groom and the mandap area during the pheras.
Meet them before you book. You will spend two or three full days with this person. They’ll be in the room during your most private family moments. Chemistry matters as much as the portfolio.
